Tournament Results for the 2022 Southern Redfish Cup in Georgetown, SC

Hi Anglers and welcome back to the Southern Redfish Cup. We would first like to thank all of the anglers and their families for participating in the 2022 Southern Redfish Cup in Georgetown. We could not have had such a great tournament without the help of our sponsors, Captain Jamie Hough and all the anglers that participated in our fall Georgetown event.

The Captains Meeting at Buzz's Roost in Georgetown hosted some of the best redfish anglers in the industry and the passion these Captains held for their sport was palpable. We had some great interactions with anglers and everyone was buzzing with energy, excited about the upcoming tournament day.

The sunrise peeked through broken clouds with a North to Northeast wind that slowly died throughout the day. Anglers reported landing multiple species including many oversized reds, plenty of keeper trout and flounder.

Our tournament started at 6:20am, first light, with boats launching according to the number of the poker chip drawn at the captains meeting the previous night. At the Captains meeting, the number 1 boat position was auctioned with all proceeds going to the Freedom and Hope Foundation. Coastal Marine won the auction and also brought in the first batch of fish to be weighed.

Coastal Marine's Captain Stuart Ricks and Michael Dorman weighed in first with 3 fish and quickly became the number one team to beat, weighing in 3 fish with a total of 12.01lbs.

Captain Ben Alderman and Mike Coogan with team Power Pole soon took the 1st place spot at 12.72lbs with their big fish weighing in at 4.74lbs!

Team Waccamaw Hawg Hunters came close with their big fish weighing in at 4.73 pounds but at the end of the day team Bumpin Mullet with Captain Jason Dail and Allen Jernigan would end up weighing 3 fish with a total of 13.41lbs, taking the top spot and eventually the tournament win with a $6,000 payout.

Team Power Pole took second place with a payout of $1,300 along with the Big Fish pot of $900! Team Coastal Marine eventually took third place winning $780.

We had a lot of great anglers that challenged the previous weeks forecast of hurricane winds and showed up to produce fish. The final results of the 2022 Southern Redfish Cup Georgetown, SC Tournament are listed below.
